What Women…Are Never Told!?

I’m both new and old to the blogging world.

I’ve been writing for probably about 21 years…since I was 10…before blogs were even invented!

It’s always been a key…indispensable part of my life…one which has impacted it…for both the good and the bad…the jubilant…and the melancholy.

That’s another story for another day though…believe me!

I’ve had this blog for about four or five years…but never really took the time or the effort to get to know it…or use it properly.

Perhaps my lack of computing skills?

Well I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone while designing my own website…which has further prompted me to add to the equation…by continuing the odd post on here.

I’ve been analysing this wordpress world for the past 3 days…and I find it neurologically fascinating.

I often give social media a bad name…but to me…WordPress…is slightly different…it’s much more intellectual…far deeper.

I wanted to give it a real go…to see what it was really about…have a play…have a ponder
…and make contact with some real gifted talented minds…which I did.

It was fantastic!

Even got emotional reading a post that honestly…as a man…as a human being…truly touched my heart…touched me to the deepest essence of my existence.

Some great minds on here…wow…some great role models.

On my travels I saw…and continue to see lots of posts…pertaining to many different areas of lifestyle advice.

I think it’s great that people get to put their thoughts and beliefs on the line for others to read.

It’s truly inspiring to see users allow me into their personal state of consciousness.

I’ve never wanted to imitate…which is backed up by any single post on this blog.

I have nothing but positivity and respect towards you all doing your own thing…I’m just getting in on the act…and would love to work on beneficial ideas together.

I run my own clinic fixing “Broken people”…and working in a variety of different ways with professional athletes…service men/women….and the public.

So for the ladies out there…I’m not going to talk about a lifestyle topic you usually hear being promoted to you…there’s no point…they’ve already been covered.

Covered so well may I add.

Allow me to bring you something different to your day.

Through clinical…logical thinking…this is being brought…live and direct…as an entity…an outlet…of homeostasis and positivity…from the get go.

Disturb the paradigm.

I write this…to add my bit…towards the amazing work already being done on this site.

A true diamond…from my heart…to yours.

Not only is it imperative and important to take this post in…but…if…implemented…functionally applied…and replicated…consistently…then it transcends…and transfers globally in the name of positive betterment…guaranteed.

For the body…for the mind…for your wellbeing and quality of life.

It truly does hold beautiful eloquence to me…as I know that as I write it…every solitary single last woman reading it…will benefit…if not already a key staple and fundamental part of their rationale and ideologies.

It’s not about this post…it’s about the thought process behind it..

Hopefully this will help somebody??

Even men!

Lets Do This People…The Crux Of This Epilogue.

Ladies…every single time…you go to the toilet…you sit down…then you stand up. (I’d like to think…but…hey…each to their own…I don’t judge if not!)

This is the point you feel you have hit the bottom of the barrel isn’t it…I know.

You’re descent into madness.

All that hype…that hoopla and hoorah…from me…all the blah blahhh…for…ladies you sit on the toilet!?

You’re thinking…WOAH…WHERE’S THIS GOING…WHAT AM I READING HERE…but…stick with it…please…it’s important to you…I promise.

Hopefully a snippet that offers you an insight into true performance movement patterning and injury prevention.

You see…a…bodies…just…a body to me.

I can’t help but see it that way…you can’t honestly help but see it that way…when one of the things you do…is palpate and assess some of the most private and intimate areas of the human anatomy.

All different types of people…all different types of bodies…all different types of issues.

You just get to learn things about people’s everyday patterns…and I want you to think about what going to the toilet really is?

It’s an exercise…because…exercise…doesn’t really exist.

Exercise is an invented concept…broken down into subsections…categories…and subcultures…providing demographic audiences…for sales…marketing…personalities…and products.

It’s all just natural human physiological existence really…there is no denying it…no arguing it…no debating it.

The neuromuscular connection and intricate design of human physiology.

It doesn’t matter if you are dancing…golfing…jumping…cycling…running or sitting on or off the toilet…it’s all the same.

It all answers to the hierarchy of movement and your own unique…specific…individual chain of command.

What you have when you logically break it down…is the complex science of movement through consciousness and subconsciousness…somatic and autonomic reflex.

Depositphotos_9299475_original.jpg

I can see how you are questioning the relevance to you…so far…but…the devil is in the detail…or wears Prada…one of the two…whichever you like.

You’re still moving your body weight through tonic and phasic positioning…loading joints.

When you sit down on the toilet…aligned…or unaligned…while you go to the toilet…and when you get up off it…everything is working…in some way….in unison…together under the concept of biotensegrity.

Biotensegrity basically means in a very scaled down way…that…you move something in your foot…and it will affect something in your shoulder…in your head…through the evolutionary purpose of our fascial and neuromusculoskeletal systems.

It’s all connected in some way.

Let’s say…just for a random example…your ankle is either over pronated…supinated…inverted…everted…or carrying some form of dysfunction…imbalance…congestion or compensation pattern.

Well…that has a direct impact on the whole foot…which has a direct impact on the whole knee…which has a direct impact on the whole hip…which in turn…affects everything above.

The modern stats show that women urinate on average 6-7 times a day…with the healthier going up to to 10 times.

Then there are demographics with pathologies which cause them the need to urinate more frequently than normal.

This is all without even factoring in healthy bowel movement.

So…let’s say you have one of those random issues above in the ankle…just a few of many I could have used…let’s say you are urinating 7 times a day…7 days a week…365 days…for 30 years.

Well…I promise you…from the bottom of my heart…the probability of you suffering another random issue like a knee problem/hip problem/neck problem…as a direct repercussion of something as simple as how you are getting on and off the toilet…is massively high…if you don’t pay attention to it.

You are consistently loading…patterning and stressing postural deviation…over prolonged periods of time.

Contraindication is almost guaranteed to occur.

If that ankle issue…is affecting the knee…or…that knee issue is affecting the ankle…then…think of the shearing force being applied to the soft tissue of the joints…to the muscles…connective tissue/fascia…tendons and ligaments…globally…every single time you need relieve yourself.

Day after day…time after time…year after year.

Exercise doesn’t even need to come into it….but it does.

That dysfunction…you start running on it…squatting on it…jumping on it…dead lifting on it…on top of going to the toilet incorrectly everyday…then the probability of injury keeps on getting higher and higher…and the time frame gets shorter and shorter.

It has to…if you don’t address and fix the mechanical and postural issue.

If it’s not something you pay attention to already…it could literally change your life…if you start.

Sounds crazy I know…but I’ve seen it be done.

This is something I find most females forget to look at as being important…and something that’s never promoted in the mainstream.

I don’t get it…because…ANYTHING…you do frequently and consistently…becomes who you are…and why.

It’s the small everyday movement patterns…that make us who we are…that affect us the most…the working posture…the sitting posture…the sleeping posture…standing posture…relaxing posture…cooking tea posture…toilet posture…bathing the kids posture etc etc.

You can’t override all of those patterns with a few exercises and an hour of working out in a day.

We are…what we repeatedly do everyday.

The exercises and the workouts will usually add to the postural dysfunction…pain…and injury cycles in the end…they won’t be able to keep up with your movement in life…I see it happen daily.

In this case guys…on this topic…all I’m saying…is you gotta sweat the smaller stuff…to get your eyes on the bigger prize.

It’s all about the way you move…the way you function…the way you think…react…perform…and repair.

It’s all about maintaining longevity and health…which means looking after yourself…before your body image.

Wayyyyyyyy before body image even comes into the conversation.

We are all beautiful…we are all gifted…we are all amazing…we are all capable of spectacular brilliance…in our own unique…individual way.

You are beautiful!

Listen…ladies…please…you…reading this now…are the only…you…in the entire world…and to me that is so exhilarating its unreal!

Experience the fine art and balance of safely…personally…individually and specifically pushing beyond your current capabilities…to create a stronger…more mobile…efficient you.

Ensure yourselves the necessities that allow you to process things to become natural…dependable…reliable motor skills…while still ensuring transferability and functionality to your everyday life.

That requires looking at the less glamorous…and the more realistic things.

Constant everyday pressure on the knee…hip…or ankle joints…through your daily routine…replicated continously…leads to natural wear and tear of the structures and their surrounding environments.

It spreads and transitions…as you can’t spend everyday sitting down and standing up incorrectly…then expect to squat…or dead lift correctly for your hour of training.

Can’t be done…ever…it goes against science.

Active senior woman doing a yoga twist outdoors

No human body or structure is perfect…so please…just take from this post…if you do have that niggle or issue…or you are out of alignment…the small things matter massively…it’s not just about exercise…or the promoted workouts.

It’s usually the small things that created the problem in the first place…it’s usually just been exacerbated through loaded intensity and exercise.

If not it’s prolonged compensation and imbalance.

Have the best day ever…and next time you are sat on the bog…look down at your knee positioning…your hip positioning…ankle/feet positioning etc etc.

See how you are sat…see how you stand up and…

If you see a problem…start to fix it…if you need any help…drop me a comment.

You may see it as daft or trivial…but once you spot that dysfunction…ask yourself…do I want to keep doing this everyday until it could…and probably will…create a problem?

Every area of movement in life affects the other…from standing…to sitting…to walking…to running…to exercises…so put yourself in the best possible position to stay pain free…to stay efficient…in body and mind.

  1. Have you tried to sit and get up off the toilet after leg day? lol

But seriously great blog post, I’ll try to remember next time to see if I have any problems.

Do you have any advice on an SI joint slightly out of place? I went to physio for 3 months and they mostly worked my core and I have continued to do so but it’s not any better. Maybe that’s just life?

Thank you for your posts, I appreciate them.

    1. Haha what a comment!

I have indeed had problems in the past getting off it 😂😂👏

Thank you very much…and thank you for taking the time out to write this…I appreciate it.

I’ll be getting a name for myself with woman on here after this…the crazy toilet guy.

Yea just have a look next time…it becomes fun 😂😂

Errm…I always say…that if anybody offers generic advice over a computer screen…it’s not relevant without palpation and assessment…but..that being said…I most definitely can offer certain possible resolution patterns.

Why does the SI dislocation occur?

As in when did it start…do you know why it started…is there something you know of that triggered it.

Physios tend to deal with the area of pain…rather than the global picture.

Did they do any work on ankles…knees etc?

      Hope you are well.

      1. It started after being pregnant with my last kid, though I didn’t gain a ton of weight than, ( I was already overweight) just the giant pregnant belly, that is when it really started. I just deal with it because what else can I do? I went to drs, physio but drs just want to push pills and physio helped my core? They didn’t check anything except for my deadlift and squat form.

  2. Thanks for this…it has stirred passion within me.

So basically they fobbed you off through the famous physio referral system.

I’m not saying that this is going to fix you…but I’d look at it like this…

When you got pregnant…as you know…you had excess weight at the front of you.

Many people will say that’s straight forward and the cause of the issue alongside giving birth.

It’s a valid point and holds substantial truth…but the problem also lies in your posture while being pregnant.

One women is going to carry herself differently…to another women with the same sized bump.

So the generic after pregnancy care is…and isn’t relevant.

How long ago did you have your kid?

SI…first things I’m going to say without assessment is glutes…are they firing? Are they too long…or even perhaps too short?

Do you have proprioception in them?

Lay down on the floor flat on your stomach…point your toes…put both hands on your arse and contract your cheeks…switch em on.

Feel to see if they are firing…feel to see if one is firing more than the other…if any issues…keep doing this everyday until you regain functional control. (While you are attempting this…as you contract your arse…try to feel the quads fire at the same time while th hamstrings are switched off)

On top of checking the glutes…go straight from there…to the head.

Wheres your positioning? Is it a head forwards posture…do u consistently keep you head aligned….if not…the dysfunction travels from the top of the spine to the SI joint….that will need looking at.

Have a look from there at the lumbar spine/lower back…any anterior or posterior pelvic tilt along side any lumbar issues?

Check for any rotation at pelvis…Check if you can rotate to one side more than other…Check to see if you can rotate at all at spine.

Check to see if your ASIS…the top bump at the front of your ilium is level both sides.

    Check hamstring/adductor/abductor length.

Check to see if QL…erectors or lats are too short or too long.

I could keep going and going but some of the dysfunction will be in those areas and that’s where u can start to build a bigger pic

    If a muscle too short…lengthen it…if a muscle top long…strengthen it.

Check your range of motion at each joint. That won’t steer you wrong

Hope that kinda offers some help

Check to see if rec fem is too short or long in quad…check the same with psoas

Check to see if TFL muscle and sartorious are long or short.
